Jesse Tyler Ferguson Lists NYC Apartment for $1.45M

Jesse Tyler Ferguson, one of the stars of “Modern Family,” is once again searching for a buyer for his Manhattan pied-à-terre. It’s back on the market for $1,449,000.

In 2018, the actor placed the renovated apartment on the market for $1.5 million. But with no takers, he eventually removed the listing. Now, it’s back with a slightly lower price tag.

Ferguson and his husband, Justin Mikita, purchased the place in early 2015 for $1.23 million.

Small size, big statement

Although it’s only about 900 square feet, the custom space is big on style.

The couple added their quirky touches before deciding to sell in 2018. That year, Architectural Digest featured the apartment and dubbed the space “eclectic.”

In a building from 1931, the unit has a single bedroom and two bathrooms. It still boasts period details, including beamed ceilings, French doors, and hardwood floors stained a rich, dark brown. Many of the walls are a shade of aqua blue and offer a cool contrast to the dark flooring.

A compact kitchen features marble counters and a hidden pantry closet. Just adjacent, the living room sits under beamed ceilings, with room for a dining table. The space has a delightful reading nook with built-in storage and French doors.

The master bedroom can fit a king bed and includes two large closets. An en suite bathroom includes dual sinks. The guest bathroom features an arched doorway and more storage.

A third closet has been cleverly converted into a windowed office with French doors, perfect for providing a flexible workspace.

In addition, the full-service Gramercy Park building provides such perks as 24-hour door attendants, a live-in super, gym with Peloton bike, laundry room, and bike storage.

Close to Union Square, the location is near Whole Foods, the subway, shops, and restaurants.

SoCal sale

The decision to place the apartment on the market comes months after the couple successfully sold their Spanish-style Los Feliz estate to Leonardo DiCaprio for $7.1 million in 2021.

The couple picked up the 1920s abode in 2013 for $4.55 million. Although they certainly made money on the deal, they also invested in improvements on the home.

During their time there, they also decorated it to their own taste. With its combination of modern updates and original elements, the enviable end result was featured in Architectural Digest.

When not buying and selling real estate, the Emmy-nominated star is best known for his role as Mitchell Pritchett on “Modern Family.” He has also starred in Broadway plays including “Our Town,” and “The Producers.” His performance in “Fully Committed” earned him a Drama Desk Award.

Sarah Saltzberg with Bohemia Realty Group holds the listing.
