Idaho’s Most Expensive Home is a $19.75M Mansion Near Sun Valley

Tucked into the tony resort area of Sun Valley, a 10,362-square-foot home in Ketchum currently ranks as the most expensive home in Idaho.

On the market for $19,750,000, it beats the runner-up by a scant $250,000.

The region is known for hiking, fishing, horseback riding, and other outdoor sports. Its downhill skiing was ranked No. 1 in the nation in 2020 by Ski magazine.

With only 3,555 residents, Ketchum boasts small-town charm, world-class outdoor recreation, and even quality public schools. (The latter were recently ranked third in Idaho.)

But real estate in this coveted area of Idaho doesn’t come cheap. The median home list price in Ketchum is a rather robust $2.1 million.

As for the city’s priciest place, it spans three parcels that total a whopping 276 acres just east of state Highway 75.

It’s anchored by a five-bedroom, 5.5-bath home built in 1990 on the banks of a spring-fed lake.

The living room features a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and a two-story wall of windows with views of Bald Mountain. A built-in bar off to one corner makes entertaining a breeze.

For a buyer who needs to telecommute, there’s a spacious home office with a number of built-ins to hold books or decorative arts.

The bedrooms are all spacious, and a few of them feature fireplaces to ensure maximum coziness.
