The Secret Service detail protecting President Joe Biden’s son Hunter has moved to Malibu, CA, according to ABC News.
The security detail is paying $30,000 a month to rent a home next door to Hunter Biden’s deluxe digs, for which he pays $20,000 a month, according to the report.
Biden’s four-bedroom, 3,000-square-foot residence was last on the rental market in May 2021. It features an open floor plan and French doors throughout for indoor-outdoor living. There are water views in the front and a pool out back.
As for his bodyguards, they’ve taken over an “enchanting” Spanish-style estate with a pool and ocean views.
And although these homes are nice, it’s the sublime locale that’s the true selling point for both.
The agents’ rental last changed hands in 2020 for $4.15 million. It’s been available for lease since June 2021. The monthly rate was $29,000 in March, according to listing information on Realtor.com®.

Malibu mansion for agents
The six-bedroom, six-bath home comes with a gym, tasting room, and guesthouse.
Spanning 3,778 square feet, the open floor plan includes a “rustic chic” kitchen and a great room with a sunken living room and a fireplace.
The “castle-like” tower houses the primary bedroom, complete with a wet bar, fireplace, luxe bath, and ocean views.
The grounds offer a pool, spa, and multiple fire pits.
The home is near Santa Monica and is a relatively quick drive to Los Angeles International Airport. In short, the pad is “a perfect retreat for discerning clientele,” the listing notes.
Pricey protection
This isn’t the first time a president’s family has raised eyebrows with its lavish living quarters. Former President Donald Trump’s daughter and son-in-law, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, kept their DC mansion’s bathrooms off-limits to the their Secret Service detail, according to the Washington Post.
As a result, the security team had to rent a nearby studio apartment at a rate of $3,000 a month. It ended up totaling more than $100,000 over the years, according to the Post.
Under the previous administration, the Secret Service requested an additional $60 million to protect the Trump family, according to ABC.
