We’ve found a Balinese getaway just off the Gulf Coast of Florida.

The area is a haven for nesting loggerhead and other turtles thanks to the miles of pristine beaches, he adds.

Built in 2011 by owners who loved to travel, the 3,014-square-foot house evokes Bali or Polynesia with its open design and tropical setting.

“The woodwork was custom-done by carpenters, just incredible woodwork,” McMurray adds. “Just the feeling of it is just amazing.”

There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, all featuring amazing views.

“The sunset doesn’t get any better, and it’s all you. There’s nobody else, just you and your friends and whomever you want to come out,” McMurray says.

With 80 solar panels, 2,500 gallons of propane, a well, and a backup generator, the home is completely off the grid. It is equipped with the latest technology, including a reverse-osmosis system for water and batteries for backup power.

The island house is close to amenities on nearby Boca Grande and other islands as well as the mainland.

“By boat, it’s probably quicker to get here than a lot of places by car in the same area because you’re dealing with traffic. But there’s no traffic on the water,” McMurray explains. “A lot of the restaurants that are on water are five to 20 minutes away, where you can eat some of the best, fresh fish.”

While the property comes with a multimillion-dollar price tag, McMurray says it’s a bargain.

“I can’t even imagine what this would cost to build today,” he says. “To barge these materials in to build this today with the construction costs and supply chain that we’re dealing with right now and the labor, you couldn’t build it anywhere close to what we’re offering it at.”

The sellers say it’s time for someone else to love the property like they have, although they’re sad to let go of it.

“It’s tough. I’ve seen the guy that owns it break down in tears because of the memories that they’ve had with their family and friends and just the passion that went into creating this property,” McMurray says.
